Lei Lang found Bai Qing and Li Meng. He looked at the two of them, along with Xuan Long, who was trembling in fear from the fright. Using his claws, he drew what he wanted to express on the ground. Bai Qing and Li Meng stared at the pictographs Lei Lang had drawn, but for the moment, they had no idea what this Thunder Wolf wanted to say.
Xuan Long seemed to know something, so he took out his camera, found a picture with Bai Lili, brought it close to Bai Qing and Li Meng, and pointed at Bai Lili with his claw. Li Meng and Bai Qing seemed to understand. Li Meng said to Lei Lang,
“You’re looking for Lili, right? This is her.”
Li Meng took out a photo of Bai Lili from her pocket. Lei Lang looked at it and nodded. Li Meng and Bai Qing understood: this Thunder Wolf was looking for their Lili. Li Meng was baffled. The Lei Lang gave her a feeling of being even stronger than that octopus monster. She couldn’t figure out what her Lili had done to attract so many high-level magical beasts.
Just as they were at a loss, the recovered Su Ruo and Qing Hanyin arrived. Su Ruo said,
“I have a way to find Lili.”
Li Meng glanced at Su Ruo and asked doubtfully,
“You can find Lili?”
Su Ruo nodded and said with certainty,
“I have Lili’s location on my phone.”
As she spoke, Su Ruo took out her phone. Now that Bai Lili’s life was at stake, they couldn’t waste time. Bai Qing and Li Meng looked at the location on Su Ruo’s phone, unsure whether to be happy or to complain, ‘Why do you have a tracker on our Lili?’ But the situation didn’t allow them to think too much. Su Ruo and her group headed toward Bai Lili’s location with Lei Lang. Seeing that these people were too slow, Lei Lang tossed them onto his back. The four of them tightly grabbed onto Lei Lang’s fur, afraid of being thrown off. Lei Lang made a few big leaps, surrounded by cyan lightning, and by the time they reached their destination, the sky had already darkened.
Su Ruo and the others looked at the huge cave entrance. Li Meng spoke first,
“I never thought these cultists would be hiding here.”
Qing Hanyin looked at the footprints and said,
“These footprints are recent. That means they should still be here.”
Qing Hanyin and the others had originally planned to sneak in, but the Lei Lang beside them didn’t seem to think so. Lei Lang’s super brain told him that now was the time to use his super strength. A wolf howl that echoed through the entire forest rang out. The cultists inside the cave were crushed by the pressure carried by the howl and couldn’t get up. Meanwhile, the octopus monster, which had been resting with its eyes closed, opened all ten of its eyes.
Towering lightning erupted from Lei Lang’s body, as if he was clad in a thunder armor, making it impossible to approach. Su Ruo, Qing Hanyin, Bai Qing, and Li Meng were struck speechless by the power Lei Lang displayed. The octopus monster took the initiative to come out of the cave. Li Meng breathed a slight sigh of relief, because in Lei Lang’s current state, if he went inside, he’d probably blast everyone in the cave to pieces.
Now that the octopus monster had come out, Li Meng led Su Ruo and the others into the cave. The cultists inside had been scared out of their wits. Su Ruo glanced at these cultists with cold contempt and said,
“A bunch of rabble.”
As they went deeper, Lilith came walking toward them, carrying an unconscious Bai Lili in her arms. Li Meng hurried over to check if Bai Lili was okay. Seeing no external injuries, she asked Lilith,
“Lilith, what happened?”
Lilith replied with some weariness,
“This monster created an illusion. Now Lili is trapped in the illusion. Other than that, there’s no major problem.”
Lilith pointed deeper into the cave and said,
“All the students are inside.”
Li Meng nodded. These matters weren’t for them to handle. It was better to leave it to the professionals. Li Meng just needed to take care of their Lili.
Meanwhile, the octopus monster outside the cave was completely unaware that its home had been stolen, and was still locked in a standoff with Lei Lang. Lei Lang gave it a very ominous feeling. It clearly remembered that there was no such powerful monster in this world. But Lei Lang wouldn’t give it a chance to get distracted.
Lei Lang pushed off the ground with his hind legs, leaped into the air, gathered lightning in his front claws, and descended from the sky. Seeing this attack, the octopus monster knew it couldn’t take it head-on, so it began dodging back and forth. Lei Lang slammed a paw onto the ground. The thunderbolts exploded and spread outward, the resulting shockwave causing nearby trees to sway precariously. The octopus monster narrowly dodged that blow. Lei Lang immediately followed up with another fast strike. Caught off guard, the octopus monster was sent flying over a hundred meters, knocking over all the trees in its path.
The octopus monster seemed furious. It extended its tentacles, trying to grab Lei Lang and teach him a lesson. But Lei Lang was wrapped in cyan lightning, so its tentacles couldn’t get anywhere near him. So it grabbed the trees it had knocked over nearby and threw them at Lei Lang. Lei Lang didn’t dodge much; the moment the trees approached him, they were shattered into pieces by the lightning he released.
Seeing this, the octopus monster realized that the Lei Lang in front of it was far too powerful. Its ten eyes stared intently at Lei Lang’s every move. Lei Lang’s cyan eyes also stared at the octopus monster. Black blood flowed from the octopus monster’s eyes as it drew unknown patterns on the ground with its tentacles. Then, the octopus monster’s body emitted a dark green light.
As if Lei Lang had smelled some disgusting odor, his cyan eyes showed disgust. The reinforced octopus monster could now match Lei Lang blow for blow, and they remained locked in a stalemate.
Inside the cave, Lilith and the others could feel the violent shaking of the ground. If they hadn’t known that two giant beasts were fighting outside, they would have thought it was an earthquake. They hesitated whether to go out. If they went out, two giant beasts were fighting. If they stayed inside, looking at the violently shaking ground, Lilith felt it could collapse at any moment.
In the end, Lilith and the others decided to go outside. When they reached the cave entrance, they saw the once lush forest had been utterly transformed. Trees were either snapped in half or charred black by lightning, completely unrecognizable from their original state. By now, night had fallen, and a full moon hung in the sky.
When the octopus monster saw Lilith and the others coming out with Bai Lili, it flew into a rage and tried to grab them back. Lei Lang naturally understood the octopus monster’s intention. He kicked the ground, causing it to shake like an earthquake, then leaped high into the air as if he could cross the moon. Gathering lightning, he brought down a paw from the sky, blasting the octopus monster over a hundred meters away. Lei Lang seemed to want to end the fight quickly.
He raised his head and howled to the sky again. This time, the lightning gathering around him was no longer cyan—it was an ominous black-red. His originally cyan fur turned red, and his cyan eyes became a violent red. Red lightning gathered around him and then erupted outward. Lilith and the others, who had just stepped out of the cave, were nearly blown away by the wind pressure from Lei Lang’s transformed state.
