“I’m back, Noxia.”
As soon as Lorevil returned from Holy Blood Academy, she sent a message to Noxia to tell her the news of her promotion to Tier 3.
“Lorevil, you’re amazing!”
Noxia stood at the door and embraced the returning Lorevil, her wine-red eyes brimming with excitement at the news.
However, a flicker of worry and loss flashed through her heart.
‘Will Lorevil become cold toward me, her ordinary Vampire wife, because of her increase in strength?’
It wasn’t that she hadn’t thought about becoming a Vampire with a rank of her own. It was simply that there was no positive feedback for her efforts.
“Didn’t I say that no matter what happens in the future, you will always be my wife?” Lorevil was not as careless as she had been before. She didn’t ignore her wife’s sensitive emotions. Instead, she immediately caught the worry in the depths of Noxia’s eyes and comforted her.
“I’m sorry, Lorevil. Today is clearly a wonderful day for your promotion, and yet I…” Noxia said apologetically.
“In my heart,” Lorevil interrupted before Noxia could finish, “Noxia’s feelings are the most important thing.”
“Mm.”
Because of those words, a deep sense of love overflowed from Noxia’s eyes. Even Lorevil’s appearance after her awakening seemed to be covered in a dreamlike filter in Noxia’s eyes.
She was even more beautiful now.
Noxia felt that Lorevil was exceptionally charming today, and every word she spoke made her heart flutter.
“Lori— Lorevil,” Noxia stammered, getting nervous due to their close proximity.
Seeing this, Lorevil moved.
“Mmm… Nnh…”
Lorevil’s lips quickly pressed against Noxia’s.
Noxia’s cute eyes widened as she looked at Lorevil in disbelief.
After a kiss that lasted for more than ten seconds, Noxia’s face was flushed red before Lorevil finally released her wife’s sweet, soft mouth.
“Do you believe me now?” Lorevil asked with a triumphant smile.
“If you don’t believe me—” Lorevil leaned down again and planted a kiss on Noxia’s rosy cheek.
Noxia pouted her lips in a daze, having not yet recovered her senses.
“Still don’t believe me?” Lorevil kissed Noxia’s forehead firmly.
Noxia’s face turned a deeper shade of red. She pushed against Lorevil’s chest with both hands, though her strength was practically nonexistent.
“You still dare to resist?”
Noxia finally came to her senses, her face blushing as she struggled slightly in Lorevil’s arms. “Don’t be like this… Lorevil…”
“Don’t be like this? Noxia, that isn’t up to you anymore.” Lorevil smiled and wrapped her arms around Noxia’s waist. With a slight exert of force, she lifted her into a princess carry.
“I— I believe you, okay?” Noxia lay in her arms, her hands instinctively wrapping around Lorevil’s neck. She looked like a submissive little thing ready to be plucked, her cheeks so red they looked ready to drip blood.
Lorevil gently placed Noxia down on the living room sofa, her gaze sweeping over her wife’s legs.
Only then did Lorevil realize her wife was wearing her favorite white stockings.
Noxia was not only happy for her promotion; she had also specifically dressed up in a way that she knew Lorevil liked. She had wanted to give her a surprise.
This discovery caused a surge of warmth in Lorevil’s heart. She swallowed hard and couldn’t help but kiss her wife’s parted lips once more.
After a brief moment of intimacy, Lorevil curiously stroked the silky white stockings on Noxia’s legs.
“Noxia, how did you know I like white stockings?”
Noxia’s face burned with embarrassment as she spoke. “Last time I wore them, you…”
She stopped halfway, too shy to continue, and quickly lowered her head.
Lorevil suddenly understood.
Last time, Noxia had worn the white stockings sent by the Head Maid. At the time, Lorevil had found her stunning and couldn’t help but hold her for a little longer, whispering a few intimate words into her ear.
She thought her reaction had been subtle enough, but she hadn’t expected the delicate-minded Noxia to catch it.
“And the Head Maid also said that I should try some new things, and that Lorevil would like it more,” Noxia whispered, looking up with her clear, wine-red eyes fixed on Lorevil.
She looked like a devoted wife waiting for her partner’s praise.
“Yes, I liked Noxia before, but I like you even more now.” Lorevil nodded and flicked Noxia’s nose, validating her idea.
She loved this kind of change.
It was clear that Noxia wasn’t just trying to cater to her; she was putting in genuine effort. It was more like a unique reward for Lorevil.
However, for Noxia to muster the courage to make such a change, she really had to thank the Head Maid sent by the family. That woman didn’t just manage the manor meticulously; she also acted as a matchmaker for their relationship. She was a rare, thoughtful soul.
“By the way, Noxia, I won’t have much to do after promoting to Tier 3. I won’t have to stay overnight at Holy Blood Academy for practical training like before.” Lorevil rubbed her nose, feeling a bit guilty. “I’ll spend more time with you today.”
In the past, because of the training sessions, Lorevil had left too little time for Noxia. Now that she could finally breathe, she naturally wanted to make up for it.
“Mm!”
Noxia responded happily. She noticed that Lorevil’s hands were still being a bit restless, so she nudged Lorevil’s body, signaling that it was time to get up.
Lorevil cast a lingering glance at Noxia. After standing up, she continued to hold Noxia close, refusing to let go.
“Lorevil, I want to buy some gardening tools for the flowers,” Noxia said softly, tugging at the corner of Lorevil’s clothes with an expectant look.
“I’ll accompany you to the shopping plaza in the Noble District,” Lorevil agreed immediately, her mind already spinning.
The shopping plaza in the Noble District not only had a full range of gardening tools, but it also had many exquisite clothing stores. It was the perfect opportunity to fulfill her desire to buy Noxia new clothes.
“Really?” Noxia was stunned, her voice filled with a mix of hope and doubt.
She couldn’t remember how long it had been since she and Lorevil had gone out together. Every time Noxia stayed at home alone, she would simply instruct the servants to buy the ingredients for the manor. But Noxia still missed the days of going out to pick fresh ingredients to cook and browsing through small shops.
The fact that Lorevil agreed so quickly made Noxia feel a bit uneasy.
“Of course it’s true,” Lorevil added. “While we’re going specifically for garden tools, we need to buy clothes for Noxia too—and quite a few of them.”
Lorevil remembered that Noxia’s wardrobe mostly consisted of simple home dresses, with very few ornate styles. This was likely because her former self never cared to pick anything out for her, and Noxia herself was too frugal to buy them.
“That might be too much of a waste of time,” Noxia said instinctively.
It wasn’t Noxia’s fault for being skeptical. Her former self had accompanied Noxia shopping before, but only to look without buying. Occasionally, when Noxia begged enough to get one or two items, they were always chosen according to Lorevil’s own preferences. Noxia didn’t like them at all, and after wearing them a couple of times, her former self would scold her, saying it was too much trouble and a waste of time.
Over time, Noxia developed a shadow over the idea of shopping, always fearing she would make Lorevil unhappy.
“It was my fault in the past. I couldn’t understand your feelings and kept blaming you,” Lorevil said, shaking her head. “Now, I want to make it up to you.”
Noxia felt a warmth in her heart. She no longer refused and nodded.
“Besides,” Lorevil’s tone shifted, “I want to see what Noxia looks like in all sorts of beautiful clothes. You’ll definitely be even cuter than you are now.”
Hearing this, Noxia’s cheeks flushed red, and she gave Lorevil a light swat. Most of the unease in the depths of her eyes dissipated, replaced by nothing but anticipation.
“Then… then when do we leave?” Noxia asked in a small, cheerful voice.
“We’re going right now,” Lorevil said with a smile, reluctantly letting go of Noxia’s soft waist to take her hand.
