“Lorevil, am I very stupid? It seems like I can’t do anything right without you,” Noxia said dejectedly.
“You’re my cute wife at home. It’s enough that I cherish my silly girl. Don’t worry about what others think.” Lorevil felt Noxia was still too sensitive; the shop assistant hadn’t actually done anything.
“Besides, I just want — ” Lorevil leaned down, biting Noxia’s soft earlobe, ” — to appreciate my beautiful wife all by myself.”
“Mm,” Noxia whispered, her head steaming from shyness.
“How about this deep black one?” Lorevil pointed to a dress on the rack and arched an eyebrow. It was a short silk dress with delicate lace trim along the hem.
“I’ve never tried a black dress before.” Noxia blinked, recalling the head maid’s suggestion. She continued, “If Lorevil likes it, I’ll try it on.”
“Go on in, then.” Lorevil tucked the dress into Noxia’s arms and pulled her toward the fitting room.
Noxia clutched the dress and stepped inside. A moment later, her bashful voice drifted out. “Lorevil, you… come in for a second.”
Lorevil was puzzled. Wondering what was wrong with Noxia, she lifted a corner of the curtain and stepped inside.
Following closely behind Lorevil, the sisters, Ira and her sibling, watched the scene with shocked expressions.
“When I was changing, the button in the back came undone, and I can’t reach it,” Noxia explained. Having reached the peak of her embarrassment, she bit her lip and fell silent.
Once inside, Lorevil got a clear look at Noxia. Her hair was pinned up high, her fair skin was tinged with an alluring crimson, and her delicate features were tense. She bit her red lip, struggling to hold up the loose clothing.
Lorevil swallowed hard but obediently fastened the button for her.
Noxia breathed a sigh of relief. Then, she suddenly realized that she and Lorevil were in a cramped fitting room together while she was only half-dressed. The fact that she had been the one to call Lorevil in made her feel even more flustered.
“You, you go out now.”
“Noxia, we’re being followed by Vampires,” Lorevil said, her tone turning grave.
Noxia’s eyes widened, her mouth hanging open in disbelief. The charming scent of Noxia’s body wafted into Lorevil’s nose, making her feel refreshed.
“Lorevil…” Noxia covered her mouth, casting a terrified glance toward the outside of the fitting room.
“There’s no danger for the time being. Put your clothes on first, and we’ll go out together when you’re ready,” Lorevil said quickly before Noxia could react.
Lorevil wasn’t lying. Ever since they entered the shopping plaza, she had noticed Vampires peeping at her. She hadn’t cared at first. After her awakening, Lorevil’s beauty had become extraordinary. Even on a normal day out, Vampires would frequently turn their heads to look at her.
However, even after reaching the second floor, that feeling of being watched persisted. Although it vanished after she entered the fitting room, Lorevil had cautiously used her Blood Thread. She had detected two Tier 3 Vampires with significant bloodline energy nearby.
She chose to tell Noxia while they were in the fitting room to mask her wife’s reaction from the pursuers.
Once Noxia calmed down, she pressed her body close to Lorevil. The soft contact made Lorevil feel increasingly flushed, to the point where it began to interfere with her clear thinking.
“All right, let’s go out.” Lorevil led Noxia out of the fitting room.
“Are we still buying clothes?”
“Why wouldn’t we?” Lorevil said with a faint smile.
Just a moment ago, Lorevil had sent a message to Madam Sharon, asking her to send a few Tier 3 Vampires to keep an eye on the place.
Lorevil took Noxia’s hand and walked deeper into the racks. Halfway there, Lorevil’s gaze was drawn to a glass display case behind the counter. It contained various styles of stockings in different colors. Remembering how Noxia looked in white silk earlier, Lorevil felt a stir in her heart and pulled Noxia toward the counter.
“Noxia, I want to buy a pair of black silks, too.”
Lorevil’s words left the still-nervous Noxia momentarily stunned. How could she be thinking about this at a time like this?
“Give me a pair of black silks that fit her size. Not too long and not too short — just right.” Lorevil knew Madam Sharon’s shop carried many premium items. However, since she had to deal with the Vampires behind them, she could only hurriedly buy one item for Noxia.
The clerk handed over a pair of black stockings with a light, thin texture.
“This… isn’t this a bit too…” Noxia’s eyes darted away. She usually wore light-colored stockings and had never tried such a dark shade. It felt a bit bold to her.
“Not at all.” Lorevil picked up the black silks with anticipation. “I think you’ll look great in them, and they’ll match that black dress perfectly.”
“Then… I’ll try them on.” Noxia hesitated, biting her lip. She looked at Lorevil and finally nodded.
This time, Noxia stayed in the fitting room for a long time before finally pulling back the curtain. She was wearing the black dress they had chosen, paired with the black stockings. Her slender, straight legs were tightly wrapped in the black silk.
She had transformed from a virtuous wife into a sexy, elegant woman with a slim waist, long legs, and fair skin.
Noxia twisted the hem of her dress nervously with both hands, her head hanging low. She didn’t dare look Lorevil in the eye, so she missed the look of shock on Lorevil’s face.
“I was right. Black silk looks wonderful on your legs, Noxia.” Lorevil stepped forward, raising Noxia’s chin with one commanding finger, forcing her burgundy eyes to meet her own.
“Is… is it really?” Noxia’s face turned so red it looked like it might bleed.
“Of course it’s true.” Lorevil leaned down and pressed a kiss onto Noxia’s forehead. “Not only does it look good, but it’s like you’ve changed your entire style. The transformation is so big that I’m a little worried someone might try to steal you away from me.”
“Wrap up this short dress and the black silks we picked out,” Lorevil said, turning to the clerk.
“Certainly, Lady Lorevil,” the clerk replied respectfully and immediately began packing the items.
“I’m sorry for today, though. I didn’t let you enjoy yourself to the fullest. I said I was buying clothes for you, but I ended up picking what I liked,” Lorevil said apologetically.
“It’s… it’s nothing. I’m already satisfied that you could come shopping with me,” Noxia said, shaking her head quickly.
She had already bought the plants and tools she liked; the black silk was just Lorevil’s little hobby, and it was still a gift for her. Seeing Lorevil’s guilty expression, how could Noxia feel anything but content? She could feel how much Lorevil cherished and cared for her.
Lorevil turned her head, her expression turning cold.
No matter who it was, whoever dared to disturb her date with Noxia today would have to pay the price.
