Chapter 53: Ska

The scene fell silent.

Xin looked in astonishment at Ska, who was wiping his sniper rifle, and couldn’t help but complain.

“I really can’t understand… What exactly is this person here for?”

This person kept claiming to be the personal guard of the New Truth leader, yet at the most critical moment, he killed his own leader, and then stood here as if nothing had happened.

Everyone really couldn’t understand what he was trying to do.

“I don’t understand either… but he’s not wrong…”

Naya sighed slightly and said with lingering fear.

“If Gexius really attracted the attention of the Spirit of Dominion, all of us here would probably die…”

“Why?”

Xin turned to look at him.

Naya explained to Xin with a serious face.

“The Spirit of Dominion, the manager of gods. This manager can’t tolerate a single grain of sand in their eyes. If they discover so many blasphemers here, they will probably descend in wrath and annihilate us all.”

With that said, everyone came to Yoge’s side and freed him.

Shabu hugged Yoge in her tentacles, sobbing while rubbing her cheek against his.

Naya also stepped forward to check Yoge’s condition.

He gently shook Yoge and softly called out.

“Old friend, old friend? Ah… looks like he won’t wake up anytime soon…”

Ska was fiddling with a miniature camera on the side.

He looked up and saw Xin and Noah walking toward him.

He put the camera into his pocket and said with a smile.

“It’s you, hehe. No need to thank me too much—work, just doing my work…”

Xin frowned.

“Which eye of yours saw me intending to thank you? You’ve been causing us trouble the whole way—aren’t you going to explain yourself?”

“Causing trouble? Did I? No, I don’t think so.”

Ska shrugged helplessly.

“Then why did you steal my card?”

Noah asked, hands on her hips, in an annoyed tone.

“Because you gave the Tarot deck to that lunatic, we nearly got killed!”

Ska looked even more innocent.

He pointed at Gexius’s corpse.

“Huh? Isn’t he dead now?”

“So you mean we should thank you?”

Xin chimed in.

“You’re welcome!”

Ska immediately waved his hand at Xin, as if being modest.

“Oh man! I really want to kick him!”

Suo’en nearby quickly stopped Xin.

Noah, while directing Suo’en to restrain Xin’s violent behavior, said helplessly to Ska.

“Sir… Miss Xin has a bad temper. If you don’t want to get kicked, you’d better tell us your true identity quickly.”

Although everyone had a bad attitude toward Ska, they all knew that this person was certainly not an enemy.

If he wanted to, he could kill everyone there over and over again, but Ska didn’t do that.

The reason they pressed him was, first, to vent their frustration, and second, because they were genuinely curious about who he really was.

“Oh? My identity?”

Ska placed his hand on his forehead, striking a pose he thought was cool.

“Since you’ve earnestly asked, I shall…”

Noah immediately looked at Suo’en.

“Alright, stop holding her back. Let Miss Xin go kick him!”

“No, no, no…!”

Ska quickly dodged the flying kick from Xin and said helplessly.

“You people, you just don’t understand humor at all!”

Saying that, Ska solemnly gave everyone a military salute.

“Thank you for your hard work, everyone. I am a senior agent of the [End] Organization, sent here specifically to collect evidence of the Truth Organization’s blasphemy. Pleased to meet you!”

The [End] Organization is hailed as the pinnacle of technology.

Its members are proficient in technology and machinery, and their greatest goal is to spread the glory of technology throughout the world.

“So he’s an agent of the End Organization!”

Noah was surprised, but after thinking carefully, she gently shook her head.

Saying that, Ska pulled out a blue work ID.

He handed the card to Noah and then waited with his hands in his pockets for Noah to verify its authenticity.

Noah took it and glanced at it.

The work ID felt very nice to the touch, clearly made of high-quality materials.

But Noah couldn’t tell whether it was real or fake.

She flipped it over a few times and replied helplessly.

“Actually, showing it to me is useless… I don’t even know if this thing is real or not…”

“It’s real. He is indeed a member of the End Organization.”

Naya walked over from behind Noah and reached out to take the work ID.

He examined it carefully against the light.

Ska took back the work ID from Naya in surprise and put it back in his pocket.

“Now do you believe me? I really am a spy planted here, specifically to collect information. So I have no reason to kill you—more friends, more paths, right?”

As Gexius’s divine power gradually dissipated, the members of the Primordial Organization finally climbed out of the pile of slimes.

These slimes had only swallowed the members and hadn’t had time to digest them.

The members wiped the slime off their bodies with disgust, hating Gexius to the core.

“Ptooey! It got all in my mouth! This stuff is disgusting! Ascending to godhood and turning into a slime—pure insanity!”

Another member, while listening to his teammate’s complaints, pulled at the slime on his body.

“Come on. Not dying is a good thing… but it is really disgusting…”

Xin walked over from the side.

She looked at this group of ‘slime monsters’ in surprise and said teasingly.

“Wow, you didn’t die even like this? You really are lucky.”

One member pulled a piece of slime from his face and replied helplessly.

“I say, Sister Xin… please wish us well, okay? After all, we do have a bit of divine power—how could we die so easily?”

After much fuss, Yoge still hadn’t woken up.

Naya knew there was no rush, so he gave orders to everyone.

“Alright everyone, we should go back. Now that Yoge has been rescued, we can start the next phase of the plan!”

Seeing everyone bustling about getting ready to leave, Ska blinked in confusion.

He looked at Noah and asked.

“What are you all going to do?”

“Set up the teleportation array. We’re going to escape from here.”

Noah briefly explained to Ska the plan for the Primordial Organization’s teleportation array, and at the same time asked him,

“Are you coming with us?”

“Ah…”

Ska lowered his head in thought for a moment, then looked at everyone.

“You’re planning to get out of the research institute, right?”

“What else?”

Xin shrugged helplessly.

“If it weren’t to escape from here, why would we go through all this trouble to come here?”

“Sigh, you should have said so earlier.”

Ska pulled out a gold-embossed card from his pocket and said, looking around at everyone.

“I have the key.”
