Ska still hadn’t recovered from the shock of his failure.
When he heard Noah’s invitation, he instinctively glanced back at the others.
“Huh? What? Where are we going?”
“I already told you once… the teleportation array…”
Noah explained the Primordial Organization’s teleportation plan to Ska again—using Star Divine Power and a medium to activate Yoge’s spatial power, which would allow them to use the teleportation array to leave this research institute.
Since all of Ska’s tricks were exhausted, this was the only option left.
“Magic…?”
Ska hesitated.
“Will it work? I get carsick.”
“What?”
Noah didn’t understand what Ska was talking about.
Xin walked over, grabbed Ska by the collar, and dragged him while complaining,
“Can you stop being so annoying? Don’t you see everyone is waiting for you? Hurry up!”
“Hey! Let go! I have legs!”
Ska yanked at the back of his coat as she pulled him along.
“Let me stand up! Hey! I haven’t even grabbed my sniper rifle!”
The members of the Primordial Organization had no choice but to put up with this agent.
Everyone turned around, preparing to leave Zone D and return to the organization’s base.
The member at the front looked around and asked the others with some confusion.
“Hey? I don’t see Gexiusi’s corpse. Did anyone clean it up?”
“No, right? Did Shabu eat it?”
another member replied, puzzled.
Hearing that, everyone looked at Shabu.
Shabu blinked in confusion, as if she didn’t understand what they were talking about.
“Heh, whatever. It’s gone, so what? You think it’s gonna come back to life?”
The speaking member strode toward the corridor they had come from, eager to leave this place quickly.
But after only a few steps, he suddenly felt like he couldn’t lift his foot.
He looked down in confusion and found a patch of translucent slime stuck to his shoe.
He frowned, about to ask what it was, when he heard Naya’s voice from behind.
“Everyone stop! Don’t go any further!”
Gasps sounded behind him.
He lifted his head in shock and saw a mass of pale green slime slowly rise from the center of Zone D.
It writhed and twisted, sucking up all the slimes Gexiusi had summoned.
The blob swelled larger and larger, gradually forming a translucent giant.
The writhing slime coiled around the member’s legs, clearly intent on devouring him as its first meal.
The member struggled in despair, having no idea what was happening.
He lifted his leg with effort and screamed hoarsely for help.
“Help me—save me! Leader! Madam! Anyone! Please help me!”
Naya immediately raised his cane and summoned black tentacles to grab hold of him, but the slime was sticking too tightly to pull him free.
Noah drew the Sun Card and fired a scorching beam of light through the slime giant behind him.
But these attacks of Divine Power were like stones thrown into the ocean—they had no effect at all.
In that critical moment, Ska’s voice rang out from behind.
“Move!”
Ska loaded an explosive bullet into his magazine.
He raised his rifle and aimed as fast as he could, shouting at the member.
“Duck!”
The member hurriedly lowered his head.
The bullet moved so fast it created a sonic boom.
A violent explosion followed, blasting a huge hole in the slime.
It howled in agony and covered the member with even more slime.
Amidst the piercing screams, the member was swallowed whole by the slime.
Everyone watched helplessly as the strong acid corroded and dissolved him, leaving not even a trace of bone behind.
“Damn it! Goddammit!”
Ska gritted his teeth hard.
“What the hell is this thing!”
“It’s a slime!”
Xin said with a deep frown.
“But I’ve never seen one this big!”
Fighters like Xin and Suo’en, who specialized in close combat, had no way to effectively damage this slime monster.
Beside them, Naya examined it closely and immediately denied Xin’s claim.
“No, this isn’t a slime.”
Naya directed everyone to retreat while summoning tentacles to try and block the slime.
“Slimes have a core, but this thing is just a blob of slime. It’s not even afraid of a god’s power… Could it be that…”
Before he could finish, the monster suddenly let out a mournful howl.
An arm formed from slime extended outward, and a twisted face seemed to emerge from the slime’s surface.
It looked up to the sky and roared with an extremely pained tone.
“THE DIVINE LEGACY! YOU ABANDONED ME!”
“MY OWN GUARD! YOU BETRAYED ME!”
“WHY WON’T YOU LOOK AT ME? WHY DID YOU KILL ME?”
“I WAS ABOUT TO ASCEND TO GODHOOD! I WAS SO CLOSE!”
“I WON’T ACCEPT THIS… I WON’T ACCEPT IT!”
This furious roar stunned everyone.
Noah stared at the pale green slime in disbelief.
“Gexiusi?! It’s Gexiusi!!!???”
Gexiusi slammed his slime fists against the surrounding floor, pouring out his hatred without restraint.
Like a wronged child, he screamed wildly.
“GEXIUSI WILL NO LONGER BE ENSLAVED!”
“GEXIUSI WILL BE WORSHIPPED BY ALL!”
“GEXIUSI WILL SIT ON THE GOD’S THRONE!”
“GEXIUSI WILL LET NO ONE STOP ME!”
All the equipment and instruments in the facility were destroyed by Gexiusi’s indiscriminate attacks, and even the ground was smashed into a crater.
Gexiusi splashed pale green slime at everyone while cursing the injustice of fate.
“GEXIUSI——————!”
Gexiusi slammed his slime fists hard into the ground.
He raised his head and howled with the most bitter rage.
“KILL ALL GODS!”
Bang————!
Another sniper round blasted open Gexiusi’s body.
He turned his gaze to Ska and slammed the ground a few more times.
“TRAITOR! TRAITOR!”
Gexiusi’s slime body was completely unafraid of the sniper’s explosive rounds.
He twisted his body, scattering countless slime fragments everywhere.
“DIE! ALL OF YOU, DIE!”
Once the slime clumps hit the ground, they immediately came to life, crawling in all directions.
Everyone dodged the slimes’ attacks while trying to circle around Gexiusi and escape back to Zone B.
Now that Yoge was rescued, there was no benefit in fighting this creature.
But Gexiusi had no intention of letting anyone go.
He stabbed his hands into the ground, gathering Earth Divine Power to encase himself completely.
A thick layer of rock armor covered the slime, and the pale green slime gradually turned dark brown.
Gexiusi channeled Earth Divine Power to summon countless stone walls, sealing the entrance completely.
Xin hacked at the slime clumps Gexiusi threw out while cursing angrily.
“This bastard was dead! How the hell did he turn into this!”
