“This aura…”
Filo and a distant dragon sensed a familiar yet strange feeling at the same time.
Ultimate Being!
The dragon opened its eyes, its profound and terrifying pupils brimming with killing intent. Though it wasn’t sure which Ultimate Being had trespassed into its territory, it had no intention of letting any intruder off easily.
That’s right—this awakened dragon was none other than the Dragon King, ruler of the dragon race!
Bearing the same Ten Ultimate Being titles as Filo, it was undeniably one of the world’s mightiest. Otherwise, it couldn’t have led a remnant branch of ancient dragon descendants back to T0 race status.
That said, dragons, like the Dragon King, came with negative traits—greed, for instance. So, the Dragon King’s rep wasn’t great across the worlds, but it couldn’t care less about the gossip.
“Let’s see which jerk dares barge into my turf without so much as a hello!” The Dragon King spread its massive wings, over a hundred meters wide, took a deep breath, and snorted two blazing flames from its nostrils.
The surrounding dragons were dumbfounded, clueless why the Dragon King was suddenly so pissed.
“Dragon King, what’s…”
“None of your business. You can’t help anyway. Stay put.” With that, the Dragon King flapped its wings twice against the ground, its immense strength propelling its colossal body skyward.
At the same time, Filo felt the Dragon King’s oppressive aura, but… it wasn’t as strong as expected?
“This must be the Dragon King’s aura, right? But it’s, like, not that impressive? Oh, right, I’m still in [Excited] mode.” Filo shook herself. In [Excited] mode, she feared nothing—not even the ground. Ten Dragon Kings could show up for a fight, and she wouldn’t flinch a bit.
That’s just how Filo thought in [Excited] mode. It also showed how potent Ye Lan’s blood was, keeping Filo amped up this long. Bingpo’s blood, even after several gulps, only kept her in a saturated state for a few minutes.
But Ye Lan’s blood tasted awful… all over the place—sweet one second, spicy the next, sometimes even sour-spicy together. Seriously, how could one person’s blood have so many flavors? Was that girl a mixed-blood or what?
Filo shook her head, dropping the thought. She and Ye Lan weren’t enemies, but that “we’re the same kind of person” line was intriguing.
Could she also be… nah, no way, too ridiculous. From her tone and vibe, she’s clearly a pure, legit beauty.
Filo pinched her chin, lost in thought. Bingpo and Chiyan, seeing her like this, didn’t interrupt and shifted back to human form.
Heave-ho, heave-ho, heave-ho~
Bingpo and Chiyan pulled out their suitcases and opened them. A portable mini-kitchen popped out.
“I’ll prep. Chiyan, grab ingredients, quick. My knife’s itching. We flew all this way—let’s eat before heading home,” Bingpo said, her kitchen knife spinning whoosh whoosh whoosh sharply.
Chiyan nodded, rolled up her sleeves, and eyed a nearby pond. She hopped over, her dragon eyes locking onto the fish swimming clearly inside.
“Dragon Claw!”
Chiyan tensed her hands and swung hard. The pond’s surface exploded upward like a dance floor.
Fish over a meter long flew out. Chiyan seized the moment, charging forward with a burst of speed. By the time she reached the other side, a dozen meter-long, immobile fish lay beside her.
“This pond’s lame, just these tiny things? Whatever, human form should be fine, right?” Chiyan hauled the fish to Bingpo.
“Sorry, only this small.”
“A meter’s enough. We’re not eating in dragon form, and Master’s appetite isn’t huge.” Bingpo took the fish, her sharp knife work whooshing as she carved them into chunks.
After learning to make normal food from Filo, Bingpo had studied tirelessly, day and night. Despite no taste buds, her effort paid off—her cooking now hit high-tier levels (roughly international chef standard).
In minutes, the dishes were ready, just needing a simmer.
“Once the chopped fish bones turn into soup, we can start the picnic. Time’s about right to call Master… huh? Master, you’re awake?!”
Filo’s head tilted up, nose sniffing hard at the enticing aroma wafting through the air.
What’s that smell? So good!
It yanked her right out of her thoughts into reality. She’d only felt this kind of pull from her mom’s cooking back in the day.
“Who’s cooking?!”
“It’s me, Bingpo, yo!”
Bingpo grinned, raising her knife. The pot simmered with fish bone soup, gurgle gurgle gurgle, bubbles bursting out. A mere pot lid couldn’t contain the tantalizing scent.
“Since Master’s up, let’s dig in!” Bingpo whooshed her knife onto the cutting board, opened the pot, and the already tempting aroma got even crazier.
Gulp!
Filo swallowed a huge lump, raising an arm to wipe drool from her mouth.
This aroma… this isn’t straight out of Chinese Little Chef’s world, is it? Or at least Little Fugui’s food vibe?
Whatever, it’s real and right in front of me. Momma, I can’t hold back…
Filo’s hands trembled, reaching for the soup, when she, Bingpo, and Chiyan all felt a powerful aura closing in fast.
100 kilometers! 80! 60! 40! 20! 10!
“This speed, this aura—it’s the Dragon King! Why’s he coming?!” Chiyan said, shocked.
“It’s… it’s… it’s the [Resonance Between Kings] skill! I knew it, but I didn’t expect it to be this strong, working from so far away?” Bingpo raised her arms, bracing against the oncoming gale.
Bang!!!!
The Dragon King landed heavily, sending countless stones flying. Terrifying dominance spread in all directions. He lowered his head to Filo, two Ultimate Beings locking eyes, like a world-famous painting come to life…
