“Mother hasn’t come back yet. I’m going to starve to death.”
“I told you we should have gone out to look for her.”
“But Mother won’t let us go out.”
“Fala, remember, we are the Reincarnation of Gods!”
“Then I’ll sleep with Mother tonight, and you can sleep on the floor.”
“No!”
“Listen! Someone is opening the door! Mother is back!”
The two little ones pounced toward the door together but met only empty air.
Carrying the fast-asleep Sephine, Vi didn’t dare catch them in their enthusiastic embrace.
“Shh—be quiet.”
Vi didn’t even need to ask.
At a single glance, she knew these were her children.
The two children were now staring at Vi with their watery eyes wide open.
“It’s not the older sister from earlier today.”
“Could it be a kidnapper?”
“A kidnapper wouldn’t bring Mother back. If it were a kidnapper, someone as cute as Mother would have been sold a long time ago.”
The two sisters chattered and argued right there, seemingly not taking Vi’s request to “be quiet” seriously at all.
It seemed Sephine hadn’t taught them the meaning of politeness yet.
Vi carried Sephine upstairs and personally helped her take off her shoes and socks.
Looking at the stockings she had just slid off Sephine’s legs, Vi casually stuffed them into the pocket of her trench coat.
‘I hope tomorrow goes just as smoothly.’
She used a finger to wipe the bite marks on her face.
When Sephine got drunk, she didn’t know how to control her strength and couldn’t aim properly, leaving several red marks on Vi’s cheeks.
The ministers would likely start making wild guesses again during the court session tomorrow.
It was worth mentioning that after Sephine left, many ministers had caught wind of it, especially those who were not in The Cabinet.
They actually wanted to push their own daughters forward to present to her.
Unfortunately, their beauty was far too lacking.
“How could the Demon King possibly dislike Sephine’s appearance?”
After all, she had fashioned Sephine exactly according to her own tastes.
“Are you leaving…”
“What, do you want me to stay?”
“…”
“Hmm? She fell asleep.”
Sephine had blurted out a sentence out of nowhere and then immediately fallen back into a slumber.
The Demon King couldn’t help but marvel at the quality of her sleep.
Sephine’s face was flushed after drinking, making her even cuter than usual.
However, drinking too much was bad for the health; the Demon King had almost never seen Sephine in this state before.
She hadn’t been able to take a proper look around during her last visit.
In truth, this house was quite large—at least large enough for a mother and her two daughters to live in comfortably.
Walking down the stairs, she saw the two little ones still hiding behind the sofa, secretly observing her.
“This person is so scary…”
“She’s on a completely different level from the others.”
They were more sensitive to Magic Power and immediately sensed her immense reserves.
She was unlike the older sister they had seen earlier today, and unlike their mother.
They hadn’t expected their mother to know someone like this.
Karin’s wings couldn’t be hidden anymore, poking out from behind the sofa and quivering.
Her insecurity was completely exposed by her wings.
Yet, she inexplicably felt a sense of familiarity from the person before her.
“How are you going to protect Mother if you keep hiding back there?”
“Karin! She’s talking to you!”
“She’s clearly talking to you!”
The Demon King didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
Were these two little ones really that afraid of her?
Her outfit might not be described as cute, but it certainly wasn’t scary, was it?
“Was it you who brought Mother back?”
Fala plucked up her courage to speak her first words to Vi before she left.
“Fala, are you crazy?!”
“It was me. Keep an eye on your mother, and don’t let her drink recklessly again.”
“Thank you.”
Fala stood in front of Vi, her small hands clasped together, rubbing them nervously.
Finally, she shyly squeezed out a word of gratitude.
“Little cutie, what’s your name?”
“My name is Fala. I’m the older sister.”
“I’m the older sister!”
Karin hid in the corner, not daring to show her face, only venturing to shout from where she was.
“Her name is Karin. She’s the younger sister.”
“I am the older sister!”
Karin loudly voiced her dissatisfaction but still didn’t dare step out from behind the sofa.
She was clearly the one who had opened her eyes first!
“Fala is so cute.”
Vi placed her hand on Fala’s head and rubbed it gently.
Previously, it was always Sephine who would pat her head like this.
Fala blushed a little from the touch.
A Demon King’s metabolism was very fast; even though she often frequented the front lines, her hands remained smooth and soft, though they were still a bit rougher compared to Fala’s.
Fala’s white hair made her look almost exactly like Sephine.
The little one hiding in the back appeared to have black hair, just like her own.
“Not bad. Once you grow a bit more, your horns will be just as cool as mine.”
Vi no longer hid the demonic horns on her head, displaying them in front of Fala.
“Will you come again tomorrow?”
Fala asked, holding Vi’s hand.
“If your mother doesn’t kick me out, I’ll come.”
“Then I’ll plead with Mother for you!”
Hearing this news, it felt like the sky was falling for Karin.
But lacking courage, she could only complain from her corner:
“No way, she’s coming again?”
Aside from that, she took no actual action.
“Then I’ll see you tomorrow.”
“Bye-bye!”
Fala stood on her tiptoes to help Vi close the door, even locking it for good measure.
After closing the door, Fala stood in place as if lost in thought.
“I am the older sister!”
“Karin is so childish.”
“You’re the childish one!”
Karin slapped Fala twice with her small wings, but then her wings stopped moving.
She was too hungry and could no longer find the energy to drive them.
She imitated her mother’s actions and searched the refrigerator for something to eat.
Finally, she found an orange.
“This should be edible, right? Fala! Do you want some?”
“I’m already full.”
“Liar~ What could you have possibly eaten?”
Karin made a face at Fala, seemingly mocking her.
“From that older sister just now, I ate a lot, a lot of Magic Power.”
This was why Fala hadn’t wanted Vi to take her hand away earlier.
It was also why Fala hoped she would come again tomorrow.
This kind of high-purity Magic Power was much more delicious than Sephine’s.
“What?! Fala, you ate all by yourself! You didn’t tell me!”
“You chose to hide. Bleh!”
This was Fala’s counterattack against Karin’s mockery as she stuck out her tongue.
The two sisters played for a while longer until they were tired.
Then, they went up to the second floor, opened their mother’s door, and crawled into the blankets to sleep with her.
One snuggled into her mother’s arms, while the other hugged her mother from behind.
The three of them fell asleep together.
Stepping outside, the Demon King kept staring at the hand she had used to pat Fala’s head.
Was this what it felt like to have children of her own?
She seemed to be getting a bit addicted to the feeling.
‘I’ll come try again tomorrow! It’s decided!’
