“I’m not seriously about to die right at the start, am I? That’d be way too embarrassing.” Filo thought this to herself, but reality was just too damn relentless. The wolf pack kept closing in on her, their mouths dripping with saliva.
If they caught her, Filo had no doubt she’d be torn to shreds.
Just as Filo was thinking about what to do next, the wolves had no such plans. After confirming she was alone, they immediately rushed toward her one after another at breakneck speed.
“Damn it, you guys don’t play fair!” Filo, scared out of her wits, didn’t care anymore and swung a fist at the wolf lunging at her.
Her fist collided with the wolf in midair at zero distance. The lunging wolf suddenly let out a crisp snap of breaking bones. The next second, that wolf, with a powerful impact, whooshed straight to the forest’s edge.
Filo: “…”
Wolf pack: “…”
“So I’m this strong? What the heck is this goddess playing at? If she doesn’t want me living a salted-fish life, shouldn’t she have made me super weak?” Filo muttered softly to herself, then her two fists banged together as she eyed the trembling, terrified wolf pack around her.
“Which of you just tried to pounce on me? Oh, right, you all made a move, so don’t blame me for getting rough~” Filo tilted her head slightly, lips curling up, her cute face flashing the kind of expression only an ultimate villain would have.
One minute later.
Filo clapped her hands and left the area. Behind her, the ground was littered with wolves, tongues lolling, sprawled out. Some were foaming at the mouth, others had eyes rolled back—none were unscathed.
Dozens of wild wolves lying there like that—who’d believe they were taken down by a frail-looking little girl?
Filo herself could hardly believe it…
She looked down at her palms, never expecting this body to hide such immense power. She felt like she hadn’t even used a thousandth of her strength beating those wolves. What was up with this body?
As Filo puzzled over this, a virtual screen suddenly popped up in front of her, like a game’s main interface, displaying her character info.
Name: Filo
Gender: Female (locked, unchangeable)
Race: Blood Clan (Vampire)
Bloodline: True Ancestor
Level: LV999

Base Endurance: 9999 (weakened)
Base Agility: 9999 (weakened)
Skills: Blood Hand, Blood Thread Technique, Blood Bullet, Supersonic, Bullet Counter, Immortality, King’s Dominance…
Titles: [Immortal] [Ageless] [Ultimate Being] [Vampire True Ancestor] [King] [Overlord] [Demon King Candidate]
Though the stats were dazzling, they could be summed up in two words:
Invincible!
“This isn’t scientific! She gave me this kind of setup? How does this stop me from being a salted fish? Sure, I’m a vampire princess now, but it says I won’t die even without drinking blood—just my stats drop.
So I’ll just build a house here. It’s a forest, plenty of food, nice scenery—basically a salted-fish paradise!” Filo looked around the forest, nodding with great satisfaction.
Since she didn’t know how to close the interface, Filo, turning back, kept looking at it. While checking her skills, she suddenly noticed some seemed a bit off.
[Resonance Between Kings]: As the True Ancestor of the Blood Clan, the undisputed king, kings resonate with kings. Effect: Increases chance of face-to-face encounters with other kings.
[Pride Between Kings]: Kings are proud; if one submits to another, they’re no king. Effect: When multiple kings meet, increases chance of conflict!
[True Ancestor Effect]: As a True Ancestor, younger blood clan members will follow your steps. No one isn’t searching for you, wanting to bring you back to the vampire clan’s holy land. Effect: Increases chance of juniors finding the True Ancestor!
[True Ancestor’s Peerless Beauty]: As an ageless True Ancestor, your beauty transcends races. Even other races will marvel at or fall for your looks. Effect: Charm increased by 30%!
Skills like these numbered in the double digits. Good grief, they’re all trouble-magnet types. How am I supposed to live a salted-fish life? How the hell do I stay salted?!
All I want is an ordinary life, just coasting along as a salted fish. Goddess, you’re ruthless.
Filo sighed helplessly. The interface in front of her whooshed away, and no matter how she tried, it wouldn’t come back.
Filo pursed her lips, crossed her arms, and looked at the forest around her, muttering softly, “Anyway, let’s build a house first.”
She walked to a big tree, took a deep breath, and swung a fist. With a bang of a loud noise, the entire tree was instantly smashed into two pieces by her punch.
The tree cracked and crashed to the ground. Filo embedded her five fingers into the wood, lifting the massive log with one hand.
“There’s no clearing around… Whatever, if there’s none, I’ll make one. I think I have a skill… Blood Thread Technique!” Filo murmured softly. A blood-red thread slowly floated from her free hand’s palm.
Filo casually swung it around. The thread shot out, extending endlessly. Wherever it went, trees were instantly sliced apart.
“Ohhh, so cool! Looks like building a house won’t take much time!” Filo waved her hands excitedly, blood threads flying everywhere. A dumb roe deer suddenly leapt into her attack range.
Roe deer: Σ(゚д゚lll)
Filo: “…”
Whoosh!
The roe deer was cut in two.
Filo, speechless, walked to the roe deer’s corpse, covering her face with one hand in exasperation.
“You jumped into my attack range yourself. I didn’t mean to kill you, so don’t blame me.”
One hour later.
In the forest’s center stood a massive 100×100-meter villa. Beside it, a bonfire blazed, roasting a roe deer. Filo opened her mouth, eating bite by bite.
“Mmm, so tasty. Since you’re this delicious, I’ll forgive you.” Filo mumbled while chewing.
The tender, juicy roe deer meat seemed to weep: I could sue you for intentional harm, and you have the nerve to forgive me? You ate me! Where’s your humanity?!
Filo quickly finished the whole roe deer, let out a satisfied burp, patted her barely bulging belly, and walked step by step to the villa’s door.
“No matter what, I’ll keep being a salted fish. My salted-fish life won’t be ended by these skills!” Filo said this, opened the door, and walked into the villa.
And so, Filo’s quest to keep living her salted-fish life began!
