But the bottle shattered into fragments that still sprayed toward them.

One shard sliced across her neck, making her cry out in pain.

When she touched her neck and saw blood, panic set in—she thought her artery had been cut.

Gu Chen examined the wound and quickly reassured her.

“It’s fine, it’s fine. It just broke the skin a little.”

Long Fei felt a wave of lingering fear and regretted not listening to Gu Chen earlier.

“Wahh, that scared me to death.”

She choked back sobs as she clung to Gu Chen, her whole body trembling.

Gu Chen patted her on the back.

“There, there. Don’t be scared. I’m here.”

Gu Chen’s gaze turned ice-cold in an instant!

She hadn’t wanted to get involved in this mess, but that bastard had not only tried to assault her friend, he’d just injured her too.

Thankfully it wasn’t worse—if the cut had been any deeper, things could’ve gone really bad!

A surge of anger welled up inside her, and for a moment, the blood rushed to her head.

“What? Don’t do anything reckless!”

Now it was Long Fei’s turn to plead with her.

“You stay behind. I’ll get you justice.”

Gu Chen took a deep breath.

‘Even several burly men couldn’t get close to that Guangtou. No matter how tough Gu Chen is, she probably isn’t his match either.’

But a whooshing sound reached his ears almost immediately, and his instincts kicked in.

“You little punk! You’re fucking dead!”

Guangtou clutched his face, absolutely livid, his eyes practically burning with murderous intent—the expression of a man whose own father had never laid a hand on him.

“Haha, Sangbiao! How’d you let some girly little brat slap you across the face?”

Red Hair was still laughing from the sidelines.

“I’ll fucking kill you!”

Sangbiao was now completely enraged, his massive frame charging straight at her, swearing he’d beat Gu Chen crippled!

But this was the bar’s main hall, packed with tables everywhere and very little open space.

Gu Chen capitalized on her speed advantage, darting and weaving, never giving her opponent a chance to touch her.

She used every prop around her.

After all, if it came down to pure strength, that guy was definitely stronger.

So adjusting her tactics based on the terrain was the essence of fighting—using the environment intelligently, just like Uncle Dragon in the furniture store could take on ten Thanoses.

Gradually, Guangtou grew more and more frantic, completely losing his form, swinging wild punches that only hit air.

Gu Chen sensed the killing intent behind her and launched a spinning back kick in retaliation, but Red Hair blocked it effortlessly and grabbed her ankle.

“Not good!”

‘This guy is far more dangerous than Guangtou.’

Then an enormous force came through, and Gu Chen was hurled through the air, slamming hard toward the ground.

Fortunately, she was battle-hardened herself. She tucked into a mid-air roll, caught herself on a table with both hands to absorb the impact, and barely managed to steady herself—her heart racing with shock.

‘This guy is flawless in both strength and speed. If it comes to a real fight, I don’t have an answer for him yet.’

Fortunately, a deep, booming voice put a stop to the fight.

“Everyone, stop right now!”

Gu Chen turned to look.

“Boss Zheng, you’re finally here.”

Manager Lu finally breathed a sigh of relief and hurried forward to greet him.

The newcomer was a middle-aged man with slicked-back hair, fitting the typical image of an underground boss straight out of a TV drama.

Seeing the whole place in shambles, he was visibly angry.

He looked at the red-haired man and demanded, “Red Wolf, do you really think my place is somewhere you can cause trouble whenever you feel like it?”

“Hmph. Your man just injured my brother, and you’re asking me what’s going on?”

Red Wolf said with a grim face.

But he didn’t continue fighting, clearly showing some restraint around this Boss Zheng.

“Your brother? You mean Sangbiao? Where is he?”

Boss Zheng was taken aback.

“Right under your feet. You’re stepping on his hand!”

“Huh?”

Boss Zheng looked down and only then noticed Sangbiao lying on the floor.

He quickly stepped back and casually remarked, “I thought it was a speed bump.”

“Hey, don’t get the wrong idea. I’m not part of the bar. That bald bastard hurt my friend—wasn’t it only right to teach him a lesson?”

Gu Chen waved her hand, making sure to clarify.

“At most, I’m just a school bully. I’m not some trash from the streets. Don’t go ruining my reputation.”

“You did that all by yourself?”

Hearing this, Boss Zheng’s face was written with disbelief.

Manager Lu immediately confirmed it—he’d watched the entire thing from start to finish and could vouch for her.

“Enough. This matter ends here. Go tell Old Luo that if he can’t control his men, then next time I’ll do it for him.”

Red Wolf looked like he wanted to say more, but he swallowed his words.

He helped Sangbiao up and left, but not before shooting Gu Chen one last venomous glare.

The grudge was officially settled.

The whole affair finally came to an end, leaving only a mess behind.

“Gu Chen, are you okay? Are you hurt?”

Long Fei only dared to show herself now, her face full of worry.

In her heart, she’d gained a whole new perspective on Gu Chen—bordering on admiration.

“Trash like that can’t hurt me. Let’s go.”

Gu Chen said it lightly, not wanting her to worry.

There was no point sticking around here any longer. Better to head back and rest early.

“Yeah.”

“You two, hold on.”

After hearing Manager Lu’s report, Boss Zheng suddenly called out to them.

“What now? It’s not like I trashed this place. You’re not going to make me pay for damages, are you? And by the way, why’d you let those guys go? That bald bastard hurt my friend earlier. I haven’t even asked him for compensation yet!”

Gu Chen’s heart skipped a beat.

She thought he was going to make her cover the bar’s losses—no way she was agreeing to that.

Words came pouring out of her like rapid fire.

“No need. Whatever compensation is required, I’ll cover it.”
