Chapter 4: A Demon Enters the Su Mansion, and Brothels Are Sold Off

Su Wan’s room, outside.

Cang Ye halted his steps, his brows furrowing slightly.

“I’ve been spotted.” He muttered to himself, his gaze shifting toward the side room.

Soft footsteps sounded from that direction, likely a woman of light weight approaching.

In front of him, the sound of rushing water continued from the side room, where Su Wan was still humming a tune while happily bathing.

Just a brief moment of hesitation.

“Ah!” A woman’s startled cry rang out.

Su Wan’s mother, Qian Yue, walked out of the room, covering her mouth in surprise and bewilderment as she looked at Cang Ye, asking:

“Who are you…”

Cang Ye carefully examined the woman before him, asking: “Fox demon?”

“What fox demon?” Su Wan’s mother said fearfully.

She was only in her early twenties, putting on a pitiful expression that begged for sympathy.

Su Wan’s mother continued: “This one is Qian Yue, a concubine of this household. I’ve never seen a fox demon, but… I’ve seen plenty of vixens. I too am called by outsiders…”

Su Wan’s mother, Qian Yue, quietly shifted her lotus steps, walking barefoot to stand before Cang Ye.

She then subtly pulled at her collar, leaning her entire body into Cang Ye’s chest.

“Ah!”

Qian Yue’s movements suddenly froze. She had just pulled the gauze from her left shoulder, her chest skin still visible against the night’s backlight.

Her slender throat was already pressed against by a tree branch.

“Is this… a magic trick?” Qian Yue blinked, a single drop of red blood already welling from her pale neck.

Qian Yue retreated slightly, then watched as the tree branch at Cang Ye’s fingertip vanished.

‘So he’s a tree demon. Where did a tree demon come from? What level of cultivation?’

Qian Yue looked at Cang Ye curiously, her gaze fixed on his fingers, like nothing more than an inquisitive maiden.

Though her age was in her twenties, the charm in her face and body still bore the pure, simple features of a fifteen or sixteen-year-old.

Qian Yue said with a gentle, coquettish laugh.

Cang Ye’s gaze shifted toward the side room.

Qian Yue’s eyes narrowed slightly as she quietly moved to block Cang Ye’s view, smiling seductively as she said:

“In there is this one’s child, only ten years old, a useless boy. Young master, please don’t take an interest in him~”

“How about~ this one has Xiao Liu come out to keep you company?”

Qian Yue laughed coquettishly as she leaned toward Cang Ye, only to be stopped by another tree branch pressing against her chest.

She laughed charmingly again, retreating half a step, and whispered while covering her mouth:

“My child is quite fond of Xiao Liu. Unfortunately… unfortunately Xiao Liu is only eighteen this year. She’d be quite the bargain for you~ hee hee hee!”

Cang Ye remarked flatly, then swept his gaze across the surroundings.

Qian Yue’s gaze followed Cang Ye’s movements, also surveying the environment around them.

But Cang Ye frowned, muttering: “The demonic energy isn’t from a fox demon?”

Just as Qian Yue tried to throw herself into Cang Ye’s arms, she was stopped by his raised finger.

Qian Yue pouted, inwardly pondering where the other demonic energy came from. Could there be another demon in this household?

“Sister Xiao Liu, I’m done bathing. Dump the water.”

Su Wan’s voice came from the side room.

“Oh, yes, young master. This servant is coming.”

Inside the room, by the time Xiao Liu entered the bathroom, Su Wan had already pulled on his pants.

He had deliberately dressed first, then called Xiao Liu in to clean up the aftermath.

Su Wan was still drying his upper body when Xiao Liu blushed and teased:

Su Wan’s face flushed red as he choked on his words.

Outside, Cang Ye glanced at Qian Yue.

But Qian Yue only smiled lightly, saying: “Why look at this one? Are you coveting my body?”

Though Qian Yue had taken a liking to Cang Ye, she no longer dared to act rashly. She could sense this demon was truly ferocious.

Outwardly refined and gentle, but in truth… he acted without warning, showing no regard for delicate beauties.

Cang Ye ignored Qian Yue, continuing to eavesdrop on the activity inside the room.

His main focus remained on observing the surroundings.

A young girl’s voice sounded from within the room again.

Xiao Liu said: “Hee hee, this servant will handle the bathwater. Go rest, young master. I’ll extinguish the lamp.”

“Oh, thank you, Sister Xiao Liu. Goodbye, sister.”

Su Wan said from inside the bathroom.

“Mm, goodbye.”

Creak.

Moments later, Xiao Liu emerged carrying a basin of dirty water.

The moment she saw Qian Yue, she first bowed, greeting: “Greetings, miss. This is…”

Xiao Liu’s gaze shifted, landing on Cang Ye. She gasped in shock: “A man?!”

Xiao Liu was only wearing a simple white undergarment, which by ancient standards was already indecently revealing.

Just moments ago, she hadn’t minded since she was only facing a child, but now she had encountered a man.

Xiao Liu glanced at her mistress, seeing that Su Wan’s mother, the Ninth Concubine Qian Yue of the Su Family, was wearing even thinner pink gauze, barely concealing anything.

Her face flushed with anger as she cursed: “Rascal! Take my dirty water!”

The bathwater Su Wan had used gushed forth, all of it splashed by Xiao Liu onto the spot one inch to the right of Cang Ye.

Cang Ye lowered his gaze, looking at the dirty water flowing at his pant legs.

Though surprised and caught off guard, his quick reflexes had saved him from embarrassment.

He looked up again to see Xiao Liu already standing protectively in front of Qian Yue.

She even gritted her teeth and tore off her own outer garment, revealing the white silk belly band beneath, then draped the opaque white garment over Qian Yue’s shoulders.

But Qian Yue discarded it in disgust.

“Huh? Miss?” Xiao Liu cried out in surprise, clutching her chest as she glanced at Cang Ye, then back at her mistress.

“Mother, Sister Xiao Liu, is something wrong?”

Su Wan’s voice echoed from inside the room.

Su Wan walked out of the room, only to see his mother in disheveled clothing, along with Sister Xiao Liu equally disheveled.

Su Wan quickly turned around, dashing back into the room, shouting: “I’m going to sleep! Good night!”

“He…”

Xiao Liu was puzzled, whispering to Qian Yue: “Miss, didn’t young master see…” this strange man?

Cang Ye’s gaze fell on Qian Yue, casually asking about the fact that Xiao Liu could see through his invisibility: “Does she have the Yin-Yang Eye?”

It sounded like a question, but Cang Ye quickly nodded to himself, saying: “I see. I’ll take my leave now.”

Tonight, Cang Ye had come to understand one thing.

The fox demon he had been wary of was actually Su Wan’s mother.

She might pose an obstacle to his plans, but at least Su Wan’s safety was no longer a concern for now.

Even if the fox demon couldn’t win a fight, she could at least buy time waiting for his support.

Cang Ye was about to leave.

Su Wan’s mother, Qian Yue, called out: “Hey~ young master, you haven’t left your name yet. Tomorrow when my master asks who the adulterer was… how should this one answer?”

Cang Ye ignored Qian Yue, transforming into demon wind and departing directly.

Xiao Liu gasped quietly at first, then shouted loudly.

Su Wan’s voice shouted from inside the room first.

Su Wan jumped off the bed and rushed out of the room, only to be scared back inside by his mother’s alluring figure.

Qian Yue glanced at her son, chuckling softly, thinking: ‘If he were a daughter, things wouldn’t be so difficult. I could bring her along for some fun. What a pity.’

“A demon? Demon?!”

Commotion arose from other courtyards.

Though Su Wan’s mother was only a concubine, she was deeply favored by the master, so her residence wasn’t too remote.

Xiao Liu’s cry had just alarmed the other residents in the neighboring courtyards.

Qian Yue glanced at Xiao Liu, smiling lightly, saying:

“Xiao Liu~ you just shouted ‘demon,’ but where is the demon now? The madam has long had it out for us. After tonight, I’m afraid you’ll be sold off to a brothel.”

Xiao Liu cried out in shock, hurriedly kneeling and shouting without caring to cover her chest:
